Moore’s Sod Farms, Inc. was established in 1962 by Daniel S. Moore, Sr. who became recognized in the turf industry and served as President of the Maryland Turf Grass Association. The current owner of the company, Daniel S. Moore, Jr. has also served as a Board Member of this organization.
In 1965, Daniel S. Moore, Jr. became actively involved in the business, which he purchased and incorporated in 1972. Since that time, the business has grown to include landscaping, lawn maintenance, landscape lighting, shrub and tree care, as well as irrigation installation and service.

Over time, the business has grown to include many year-round commercial maintenance accounts including mowing, mulching plantings and irrigation systems. The Moore Companies is licensed and certified in Maryland and Delaware as Pesticide Control Applicators in the following categories: Ornamental Exterior and Turf, Right-of-Way, and Industrial Weed Control. The corporation carries $2 million in Commercial Liability insurance.
