Class Action Lawsuit Filed Alleging Wage Fraud Against Major Employers
Baltimore, MD — March 16, 2010 — A former employee of two major companies acting as a single employer has filed a class action suit against Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO) and Utility Lines Construction Services, Inc. (Utility Lines), alleging violations of Maryland Wage Payment and Wage Hours laws.
The lawsuit was filed by Lebau & Neuworth, LLC on behalf of the plaintiff, Richard Wagaman of Taneytown, MD and hundreds of current and former employees of PEPCO and Utility Lines. It charges the two companies with wage fraud, also known as wage theft.
The lawsuit seeks to recover all wages due, triple damages under Maryland law, attorney fees and costs, and an injunction ordering the companies to comply with Maryland law.
