Welcome to the website of New Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We exist to glorify God by seeking gospel change in our hearts, in our church, and in the world, that many would come to know and worship Him.
Wondering if you amount to more than a cosmic chemical coincidence or a wisp of psycho-spiritual momentum? You do. We all do. Someone other than you and I built this ship and wants our help bringing her safely in to harbor. (Read more.)
God designed each of us like himself to relate, love, create and reason as part of a dynamic community. Buying into the lie that we could run things on our own, we rebelled against our Creator and now scorn to even acknowledge his presence. Our mutiny brought about all the suffering and ugliness around us and leaves us each responsible.
However, our Heavenly Father loved us so much that he pursued us patiently, generation after generation, revealing himself to us again and again through powerful restorative acts recorded by his faltering followers and harried prophets. These interactions all prepared the way for his greatest action when he became an unborn child and lived a full and perfect human life within a disparaged corner of his own creation. Even those who will not accept it as history acknowledge the beauty of this story. Those who do believe it claim that it makes all other love stories and hero epics ring with truth.
Read the Bible and ponder its many details. Contemporary American culture throws a long list of hostile labels at the Bible: mythological, outdated, irrelevant, bigoted. It is none of these things. Read it for yourself. Study its history and literature. Ask yourself if its Author could have created you, forgiven you and issued you a challenging assignment.
