The Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Icon of the Mother of God visited us October 22nd and 23rd for the Divine Services for the Optina Elders. We brought the holy icon to the church on the hill for a Cross Procession. A photo report will be posted shortly on the wonderworking Icon's visit to our parish.
The beautiful church on the hill. "The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs."
Orthodox Christianity: Founded 33 AD
Two thousand years ago, after receiving the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the apostles of Christ went out from their native Israel to bring the Christian Faith to all the far reaches of the world. The ancient Christian Faith, founded so long ago, remains unchanged today and is found in the Orthodox Church. Holy Apostles Orthodox Church was founded with the purpose of bringing the Gospel and Divine Services of the Russian Orthodox Church to the people of America in the English language. We invite you to come to any of the Divine Services or events at our mission church.

Following is a quote from the book:
For Christians, the miracle of all time is the Holy Liturgy, and the Church itself is the first circle of paradise, heaven on earth. No matter what our circumstances, our hearts should be at peace because God Almighty, our Saviour Jesus Christ, is with us as He promised, to the end of the world. The darker the world and the crueler its habits, the lighter is the Church with its celestial laws and rules, warmed by Christs life and love. The weaker we feel ourselves, the swifter we are to run to the Church. If we have true faith and a sense of kinship with the saints, who are our intercessors and elder brothers and sisters, we need have no fear of being misled, of falling into delusion or prelest. Whether we are confessors or parishioners, bishops or laymen, we are to have strong hope, a sober mind, and a peaceful heart, walking in the light of Almighty Gods wisdom and love.
