Welcome to the Tintop Cairn Terrier home page. You can learn more about my history with Cairns in About Tintop. Please enjoy visiting the photo gallery, with pictures of some of Tintop's favorite pets. I hope to answer any questions you may have in my page of FAQ. I would also like to encourage you to learn more about what you should expect from a reputable breeder.
I established Tintop Cairn Terriers over twenty years ago in the lovely "Land of Pleasant Living" near the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Southern Maryland. I have worked diligently to produce the highest quality puppies and dogs, with health and temperament foremost in my goals.
I am a longtime member of the Cairn Terrier Club of America and the Potomac Cairn Terrier Club, and have always bred my dogs within their ethical guidelines.
I breed only Championship quality parents to produce puppies of beauty and health. My aim is to produce show quality puppies for my breeding program here at Tintop, and those puppies not kept for show are placed in loving, approved pet homes.
Every parent is health tested before being used for breeding, to assure you a healthy puppy. Eyes, liver function, and kidney function must all be normal. I will not breed a dog who has any sign of allergies or who is not structurally sound.
All puppies sold as pets are spayed or neutered before they leave me, for your convenience and my peace of mind. They also have received age appropriate vaccinations and heartworm preventative, are wormed, and are groomed.
I prefer to place puppies who are old enough to be both physically and mentally ready to learn the housebreaking and other training they will need to be your ideal pet. Many puppies go to their homes at 16 weeks or older.
Occasionally, I will have older puppies or young adults available, as well as mothers who are retiring from breeding.
