Trevon Moehrig Branch teaches Engineering and leadership skills to students across the state of Maryland. These LEGO games are tremendous fun and the students engineer their robots with specialized attachments so they can complete each mission. We have created super fun Games. Each game is a mission that earns the team members a certain amount of points. The teams construct simulated cities with all the relevant buildings. It is all designed ahead of time by the students. Each mission has time limit and a home base. Students write programs to correctly complete each mission. These new engineering games allow students to acquire leadership skills. Every study takes aseparate lead role in one part of the mission. Different studentsare taskedwith engineering different part of the city. One member will take the lead in designing and constructingdifferent and distinct buildings. Another group member will take the lead when it comes to designing the business district. And yet another pupil will be at the forefront when it comes to designing the shopping district. Each group of students will engineer and build their specific quadrant of the city. Students will learn about architectural design. Each leader will choose a specific area of expertise and they will share this knowledge with the group. They will also become proficient programmers as they create robots that can navigate the streets of their newly created cities. Students will use computer coding and C+ Lego language to autonomously control robots. All pupils will have the opportunity to learn about the different branches of government and take a field trip to visit the capitols in both Maryland and Washington D.C. They will even have the opportunity to interview some members of congress. At the very end of the course students engage in sumo competitions that are a great deal of fun. The robots also engage in robotic soccer competitions as well as sumo robotic competitions.
