Calvert County Maryland
Calvert County is a special place to live in the fact that the urban sprawl has not taken over yet. The crime rate is low, schools are rated as one of the best in Maryland and the people are very friendly. The county is still rural even though it is the fastest growing county in the state. The county is unique in that it is surrounded by water, the Patuxent River on one side and the Chesapeake Bay on the other. There are many state and local parks which encompass waterfront areas with boardwalks and beaches. The parks also provide a habitat for wildlife in the woods and wetland areas along the water and its tributaries. There are businesses and services in the county, but not an overabundance of commercial growth. New Home construction is on the rise and offers todays buyers affortable housing close to Annapolis Maryland.
Chesapeake Maryland County Calvert Beach
The Town of Chesapeake Beach offers numerous activities, attractions, and fun things to do. Known since the early 1900s as a resort town, Chesapeake Beach retains its quiet charm as a quaint waterside community on the Chesapeake Bay.
As it was in 1900, Chesapeakepe Beach is still a fun escape from Washington, D.C. Explore our history starting with the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum. Let the kids enjoy themselves at the water park, or charter a fishing trip out in the bay with your friends. If you don't want to "catch your own," come and dine at one of our many fine restaurants.
The neighboring towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach grew up together in conjunction with the resort. Both towns supported popular bayside activities and entertainment as well as shops. For many years the fire hall for both communities was located in North Beach while the public school was in Chesapeake Beach. Seasonal and year-round homes were built in both communities, and the population of the area grew.
