Today many marriages involve divorced or widowed couples, many of whom have children. Children accept a parent's marriage more readily when they are included in the wedding plans and given some tangible symbol of being embraced by the new family.
A wedding ceremony that includes a family medallion presentation provides an excellent opportunity for the couple to pledge their continuing love and support to their children.
