Vacation Boarding Kennels has been operated by the A.P. Whiteleather family for over 50 years. Four generations of Whiteleathers have worked on this farm and kennel.
We board dogs and cats for people going on vacation. The usual stay is for a weekend or a week. Visitors are always welcome during working hours.
Sorry, we are not currently boarding rotweillers, shepherds, and bulldogs.
Please give us a call prior to bringing your animal in. We normally prefer a week's notice, and 2 weeks notice for busy holiday times such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th. August, etc.

Check in / Check out procedures:
Drop off: You will take your animal down to the kennel with one of us escorting, and you will put your animal in the run area. Afterwards we will go back up to the office to fill out a form with some basic information.
Pick up: Pay first with cash or check, then we will escort you down to pick up your animal (who is usually pretty excited about going home!)
Dogs: Each doggets his/her own run. The run area is divided into two sections: one section for eating and sleeping which is approximately 4' x 4'. The second part of the run is the 'outside' area and is approx. 4' x 12'. This area is now enclosed much like a porch so we can heat it in the winter and open it up in the summer while still protecting the dogs from the heat and rain. All the kennels are heated in the winter and we have large exhaust fans and some nice shade trees to keep summertime temperatures down.
The runs are separated by chain link fencing. This allows the dogs to see each other as well as bark and 'play' safely. Each dog gets his own water container which is refreshed daily. Large dogs get a two-gallon bucket while the smaller guys get a two quart pan. The run areas are cleaned as often as necessary.
Cats: Each cat gets his/her own area that is 4' x 4' and approx. 4' tall. These runs are raised off the floor about 3' to give the cats a more secure feeling. There are ledges that they often climb up on to get an even higher position. The runs are separated by a mesh fencing for a more open atmosphere.
Dogs: We carry Pedigree brand dog food. We can feed either dry, canned or a mixture of the two. If your dog does not like Pedigree please bring your own food and mark it clearly so we know who it belongs to, how often to feed and how much to feed.
Cats: We carry both dry and canned food. If your cat requires a specific food please bring that along and label it clearly.
We will give any medication that can be hidden in either canned food or a hot dog or will be eaten as a treat. We do not give shots or put pills down animal's throats.
We will not take any animals that will suffer dire consequences if they do not get their medication.
