At the Advanced Centers for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine (ACOSSM), our team of expert physicians and support staff offer quality, innovative treatment for your orthopaedic problems. Caring for the orthopaedic needs of the Baltimore, Maryland area since 1955 with warmth and professionalism, our practice features specialists who are leaders in their field in hand and upper extremity conditions, joint replacement, spine surgery and sports medicine.
ACOSSM's commitment is to our patient, to deliver the finest quality orthopaedic care in a personal and family-oriented manner. Our care ranges from the 10-year-old little league pitcher with a broken arm to the 73-year-old grandmother that needs a total knee replacement so that she can continue to enjoy her grandchildren and her gardening.
All of our offices are open daily, Monday through Friday. Our physicians provide emergency coverage 24 hours per day. We accept many insurance plans; check our insurance section to see if your health plan is included.
We are proud to announce a state-of-the-art surgical breakthrough at ACOSSM! Dr. Stacey Berner has become the first surgeon in the United States to perform successful robot-assisted hand surgery. Dr. Berner used the daVinci robot to repair nerve damage in a patients hand. By using robotics, Dr. Berner was able to more closely control every aspect of the surgery, and offer a minimally invasive option for a very complex surgical procedure.
