How many resume writers will spend the time with you working out the best wording, describing your experience and responsibilities? It’s not all just formatting and making it look pretty on paper. It’s about writing well. It’s about asking you the right questions. I will do so.

Why not use a corporate professional, who wrote for senior executives at one of Americas top high-technology firms? One with more than 20 years of experience. All for $150, including appropriate letters.
It doesn’t matter if you are a senior corporate executive … mid-level professional … or just graduated. I will provide you with the same excellence as I did for those who ran multi-billion-dollar business organizations. I will make your custom-tailored resume, cover letter, thank-you letter or professional biography as good as it can be.
Having a poorly prepared resume is costly. For example, if someone makes a thousand dollars a week, each unemployed week is a thousand dollars lost. So having your resume professionally prepared … for a fraction of that thousand… will save you money.
You won’t find any “hard sell” on my site. No talk about “guaranteed success.” An excellent resume serves to get you in the door. The rest is up to you.

I have more than two decades of experience writing for senior executives. I wrote for senior executives at a corporation with over $90 billion in current annual sales. Also, I wrote for senior executives at a leading national trade association and for the United States government. I hold three college degrees.
Before forming the Charles Hayes Resume Consultancy, I prepared resumes and cover letters on a pro-bono basis over several years for professionals, ranging from teachers to international consultants.

My consultancy is not a factory operation. I refuse to churn out one mass-produced resume after another. Instead, I limit the number I work on. This enables me to hand-craft each one to produce the best possible results. Doing so is more interesting as well.
You won’t get a resume back a few days after sending your material off to an impersonal Internet site. You will work with me by telephone and by e-mail and by successive drafts.
After all, what is your resume? It’s not simply a written summary of your career. It’s a carefully constructed perception of you.
Too often, job seekers do not recognize their own strengths. Distinctions (such as high grade-point averages or achievements) end up buried deep inside their resumes. Once I finish writing your resume, such distinctions will come to a potential employer’s eyes moments after beginning to read.
By the way, crucial facts often come out during telephone discussions. This is one of the reasons why I regard providing the personal touch to be so important. It could make the difference between you being considered or forgotten.
Be it your first after graduation or the last in your career, your resume will be the end result of much thought and care.
I will have a personal interest in your success. I want to write your next resume … and the one after that as well. Also, I want to write those of your friends.

My philosophy is summed up in a few words. The easier it is to read… the easier it is to understand.
This is especially important when employers read your resume. Why? Because the first impression you give is so important.
What if your resume doesn’t impress immediately? Chances are you will not be considered.
Now, weren’t these sentences easy to read? And weren’t they easy to understand?

First, call on my toll-free number 1(866)506-3080 (non-toll: (410)571–8874) or e-mail me to schedule a phone call to “cover the basics.” I learned very early in my career that it is best to talk to someone before the writing begins. I will call you at an agreed time.

You may have written up either a resume or at least some wording. Send it to me, via e-mail. I will rework it into an initial draft and return it to you. I will call you with questions and suggestions. Then, I will refine the draft. From there, we will work “back and forth” until your resume is as good as it can be.

Preparing a resume can be an intimidating experience. Many professionals have never prepared one. For others, it has been more years than they can remember. In such cases, I suggest answering the Let’s Begin Your Resume questions to start the process. Then send it to me, via e-mail. I will work up an initial draft and return it to you. From there, the process is essentially the same as Plan A.

Receive your “as good as it can be” resume, via an e-mail download. What paper should you use to print it? I recommend Southworth’s 20-pound credentials paper or equivalent.

Will you need an updated resume several years from now? Just let me know. I will keep your resume stored in my computer files indefinitely. Within moments, your resume will be on my screen ready to be updated.

Many resume mills want to get your resume out the door as quickly as possible. Why? So they can grab your money and move on to the next payer.
Yes, I can turnaround your resume quickly… if need be. However, I believe that a resume is a bit like fine wine. It is better if “aged in the cask.” In other words, there is nothing better than putting a resume away for a few days and then looking at it with two pairs of eyes … yours and mine. Almost invariably, some way to improve it will come to mind.
Quite frankly, if I have the choice between shoving your resume out the door or taking the extra time to make it as good as possible, I prefer to take the extra time. A satisfied customer and a well-tailored resume are two of the best advertisements I can have.
