We all love to hear a good story. We save our stories in books. We save our books in libraries. Libraries are the storyhouses full of all those stories and secrets.
Welcome to Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, Inc! We are a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the Montgomery County Public Libraries through our fundraising and advocacy efforts.
Here, you can find out the most up-to-date information about the Friends, our chapters, the bookstores, and upcoming events throughout the County. Friends of the Library supports county-wide projects that enhance the love of reading and life-long learning. We work with all genres of people-new immigrants, children, older adults, and everyone in between.
We hope that you’re as passionate aboutour libraries as we are. Friends of the Library works to promote librarianship as a career and to encourage local authors, new and established alike. Join Friends of the Library today, and help us keep our libraries vital.

You can stop by the Wheaton Bookstore to pick up your compost bin, free of charge, courtesy of Montgomery County Recycling. You can go doubly green when you pick up or drop off your used books by getting the compost bin to use at home!
