The Southern Maryland Higher Education Center offers over 40 meeting rooms totaling 25,799 sq/ft of dedicated meeting space. Rooms include our Center Hall that can seat 430 or 140 in each of the three sections, a Multi-Purpose Room seating 120, two Lecture Rooms seating 50, 30 Meeting Rooms seating 15-30, five 25 station Computer Labortories, and two Board Rooms seating 10-16. There are laser projectors and computers in all rooms.

Stevenson University to Offer RN to BS Program
Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC) is the newest addition to Stevenson University's RN to BS partnerships. Stevenson was recently approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to offer classes at SMHEC. This partnership will allow nursing students in Southern Maryland to finish their bachelor of science degrees in nursing through Stevenson.
Stevenson will begin teaching classes to its first cohort at SMHEC in spring 2011. Classes will be hybrid, combining face-to-face and online education. RN to BS courses will be sequenced one at a time over the next two years. A second cohort will begin spring 2012.

The Southern Maryland Higher Education Center was established by the State of Maryland in 1994 to provide a regional facility with state of the art technology to serve the university and professional training needs of the Southern Maryland region. Today, the Center hosts over 90 graduate university degree programs and 13 bachelor completion degree programs, presented in their entirety at SMHEC by ten distinguished university partners in the professional fields of engineering; education; management; clinical and community counseling, and school counseling; information technology; business administration; technical management; communications; and human resources, financial, health care, marketing and project management.
