The staff at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A. would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Web site. Thornton Funeral Home was established in 1968, and from the day our doors opened, we have taken pride in the service that we provide to our families. Our family owned and operated business has grown far beyond being "just" a business. We have evolved into a place of nurture by providing our families with sincere compassion, unparalleled service, and support whenever needed.
We excel in going the extra mile to live up to our motto of Service To Meet Your Needs. We have achieved a rating of Very High Customer Satisfaction by our families through ValueStar, an independent company specializing in rating customer satisfaction.
This Web site was designed to provide information about who we are. Like other funeral homes, we offer traditional and non-traditional services, cremations, pre-arrangements (no money needed), off-site appointments, and competitive prices. Unlike other funeral homes, we give you our hearts and sometimes our tears.
There is so much more we could say but we think the following excerpts from letters received say it best.
"I really thought that making funeral arrangements would be the most horrible experience of my life next to losing my husband. The first place we called was so cold, I honestly didn't even want to try another...when you answered the phone, I knew I could place myself in your hands. I thank God...because I truly felt you had my best interests at heart and that you were in tune wih my heartache and pain. I was able to trust you and I thank God that I was able to move forward without fear of being taken advantage of at such a vulnerable time...I appreciate you for making the whole process as painless as possible. That's why I'm thinking of you with gratitude." - Vicki Robinson & Family
"On behalf of the Charles County Department of Aging and Community Centers, and the participants of the Indian Head Senior/Community Center, I would like to thank you for a most interesting and informative presentation entitled "Planning Ahead." I have to confess...that I was a little nervous about this topic for a group of seniors, many of whom were widows and widowers, and whether or not it would be difficult for them to sit through. I was very pleased with their reactions to your very professional yet personal manner. You made a difficult topic one of interest. I have had many positive comments...and requests from those who missed your presentation as to when we are going to have you back. It is my hope that you would consider doing this again next year! Thank you...for the wonderful service that you provided for our group." - Kathy Sheldon, Senior Center Coordinator, Indian Head Senior Center
"...I would love to thank you for remembering me and my family...it has been a trying year for us. No matter how much you think you are prepared for this situation, you never are. I asked Momma a few weeks prior what her plans were...she said, 'Go get my briefcase, I want Thornton's to handle everything.' She had confidence that you would do a wonderful job. Everything was superb...she truly looked peaceful. I love you for that. I only met you once, but I will remember you for a lifetime. I was blessed to have met such wonderful and caring people as you." - Sharen L. Myers
